The “Hellenic Society for Extracellular Vesicles” with the acronym HelSEV is a non-profit scientific association.
HelSEV was founded in 2025 by 35 founding members from across the country (Decision No. 25/13-8-2025, by the Single-Member Court of First Instance of Ioannina).
The purpose of the HelSEVis the multifaceted, interdisciplinary development and promotion of research and knowledge about extracellular vesicles, which constitute “organelles” of intercellular communication and cellular homeostasis.
To achieve its objectives, the Society seeks to utilize the existing scientific workforce of the country, as well as to attract new scientists from different expertise/specialties related to this scientific field.
Indicative activities that fall within the scope of the HelSEV include:
- The organization and operation of information, education, and specialization units,
- The organization of conferences and other scientific events, at national and international level,
- The promotion of the activities of HelSEV Sand its members through its website, announcements, publications in informational material, as well as articles in the daily and periodical press,
- The development and cultivation of collaborations with Universities, international organizations, and other scientific societies in Greece and abroad, as well as with relevant public authorities,
- The representation in scientific societies of related subject areas in Greece and abroad,
- The collaboration with any natural or legal person or organization in Greece or abroad with related activities,
- The offer of scholarships.
